Injury Report

Washington State Cougars

Out – WR Zeriah Benson (eligibility). Questionable – CB Derrick Langford, safety Jordan Lee, and inside linebacker Travion Brown were injured at Wisconsin last week. According to Cougars Head Coach Jake Dickert, all three are game-time decisions.

Colorado State Rams

Out (season) – Left tackle Brian Crespo-Jaquez was lost for the year due to a knee injury. Wide receiver Dante Wright and kicker Cayden Camper are no longer with the team. Questionable – RT Dontae Keys.

Outlook

The Washington State Cougars are coming off a huge high after upsetting Wisconsin on the road last week. While it’s great to revel in victory, that game is over.

Next week, WSU opens the Pac-12 season against one of the conference favorites, Oregon. It’s only natural to look ahead. But there is still a game on Saturday against Colorado State.

Injuries may be the big story. CSU already lost both of their starting tackles. Meanwhile, the Washington State Cougars may be without two starting defensive backs.

The Rams and their version of the “Air Raid” already yielded 16 sacks in two games. Considering the Cougs defensive backfield situation, they’ll be coming for CSU quarterback Clay Millen. Cougs edge rushers Ron Stone Jr. and Brennan Jackson could have multiple sacks.

At his weekly press conference, Dickert said the Cougars have to prove they can go vertical. So CSU should be ready for Cameron Ward to throw deep.

Everything points to a cakewalk for the Washington State Cougars. That’s why they call these “trap games.” Even so, Wazzu will win and cover at home.
