The Pac-12 finally released 2021 conference football schedules on Tuesday. The Washington State Cougars have some tough challenges this year.

It’s more than fair to say Nick Rolovich`s first season on the Palouse was like nothing he or anyone else envisioned. Key transfers, a true freshman starting quarterback, and COVID-19 ravaged schedule were a rough welcome to the Pac-12. As the Cat in the Hat prepares for his Washington State Cougars follow-up in 2021, he has to navigate a somewhat difficult schedule to navigate.

After much delay (with no reason given), the Pac-12 finally released the 2021 football schedule. The Washington State Cougars have their work cut out for them.

Quick Analysis

Rolovich has several problems to deal with before the Cougars take a snap in 2021. At the top of the list, he has to decide whether suspended starting quarterback Jayden de Laura is welcome back on the team. If not, who is the new QB? After the Wazzu roster is settled, then the team has a demanding schedule to face.

Even though the Cougs face USC in Pullman, most of their tough conference games are on the road. Utah, Arizona State, Oregon, and Washington are all away games.

One of the highlights of the 2021 schedule is a matchup with Brigham Young at Martin Stadium in Week 8. It’s one of the most significant non-conference games played on the Wazzu campus this century.
