Interesting Trends
The Washington Huskies started 2022 with a trio of wins. In their last 6 games, Washington covered 4 times, and the total went over 5 times.
Over their last 9 games, Stanford is 1-8 and failed to cover the spread in any of them. That includes 7 Pac-12 games. For anyone looking for a reason to bet on the Cardinal, they’ve beaten UW in 10 of the most recent 14 games.
Outlook
Thy key for the Washington Huskies is to stop Stanford quarterback and NFL prospect Tanner McKee. The junior has a career 65.4 completion percentage. He has a knack for fitting the ball into tight spaces.
UW’s task is much easier than it could have been. Two weeks ago, G/T Branson Bragg retired due to the effects of concussions. Right tackle Myles Hinton is also out for today’s game. That’s two starting offensive linemen. Additionally, leading rusher E.J. Smith won’t play against Washington, either.
Needless to say, the Huskies’ offense needs to keep on keeping on. They have the nation’s 13th-ranked scoring offense in the country, averaging 45.3 points per game.
Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has been a revelation this season. The redshirt junior has 1,079 yards, and 10 touchdown passes in three games.
Three Huskies receivers Ja’Lynn Polk, Jalen McMillan, and Rome Odunze, have double-digit receptions this year. Stanford will have to pick their poison in coverage.
