Washington Huskies Football Signing Day 2022 – Some good, Some not so good
And a kicker/punter
Near the end of the day, Washington signed kicker/punter Kevin Ryan from Idaho State University. Last year, Ryan only had two games that he averaged less than 43.25 yards punting. That makes him an excellent candidate to replace Race Porter, a second-team All-Pac-12 punter last season. As an added bonus, Ryan also connected on 48 of 51 PAT attempts for his career.
Wrap Up
Ryan was the eighth addition on signing day, bringing Washington’s total to 13. The Huskies’ goal is to land 17 players at the very least, so there are four players to go.
So far, most of the ranking services don’t think much of the Washington Huskies 2022 recruiting class. UW ranks 10th or 11th in the Pac-12 and in the upper 60s to 70s nationally. The coaching staff has their work cut out for them if they are going to raise these players up to the high standards set by Huskies teams of the past.
There is also time to improve the group of incoming recruits. Washington has scholarships available to offer, and high-profile players like Connerly are still available, as are players in the transfer portal. But the number is low and diminishing by the day.
