NFC North

Detroit Lions

Week 2: Detroit Lions lost to the Green Bay Packers 35-17. Rookie defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurnke, inactive for the opener, played special teams where he had two tackles.

Week 3: Onwuzunke played only on special teams again with no tackles in a narrow loss to Baltimore.

Week 4: Another week, another Lions loss, this time to Chicago. Onwuzunke again played solely on special teams, where he had one tackle. Sooner or later, the 2021 second-round pick should get some time with Detroit’s defense.

Week 5: The Lions came closer, dropping a 19-17 decision to Minnesota, thus remaining winless. Onwuzunke looked like a man trying to make a good impression with a season-high four special teams tackles.

Green Bay Packers

Week 2: Kevin King started at cornerback in the Pack’s win over the Detroit Lions. He had four tackles.

Weeks 3 and 4: Green Bay won their next two games. Unfortunately, a concussion sidelined King for both.

Week 5: King was back in the starting lineup against Cincinnati. He had a good game with five tackles and limited Bengals’ receivers to 3 catches for 17 yards. He had to leave in the second half with a shoulder injury.

The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings have no Huskies on their active roster or practice squad.

NFC East

New York Giants

Week 2: The Giants lost a close game to Washington 30-29. Defensive tackle Danny Shelton didn’t play as much as he usually does and had one tackle.

Week 3: Shelton made one tackle in the game in a loss to Atlanta.

Week 4: NYG won their first game of 2021, beating New Orleans in overtime. Shelton did a good job plugging the middle and had a season-high four tackles. Wide receiver John Ross made his first appearance of the season after three weeks on the injured list. The speedy receiver caught 3 passes for 77 yards which included a 52-yard TD pass from Daniel Jones.

Week 5: in his second game of the season, a 44-20 loss to Dallas, Ross caught 1 of 5 targets for 13 yards. Shelton’s playing time continued to increase, and he had six tackles.

No other team in the NFC East (Dallas, Washington, Philadelphia) has a Huskie player.
