Three Keys to Victory

These are two teams currently playing good football. The Washington Huskies are red-hot coming into this year’s Apple Cup. And after last year’s beatdown are looking for a little payback.

They aren’t going to walk into Pullman and take the game.

  1. Michael Penix needs to play like he’s done all season. Air it out to one of his many receivers and let them run wild.
  2. Stay cool. Yes, the Huskies want payback, but they can’t lose control and take bad penalties. Penix wasn’t a Husky in 2022, so he doesn’t carry that burden.
  3. Pressure. The Huskies’ pass rush needs to get to Wazzu quarterback Cameron Ward. Early in the season, he had the propensity to throw interceptions. If UW’s secondary is healthy, they can stay with Washington State’s receivers. Getting heat on Ward could force him into mistakes.

Check back with us on Sunday for our takeaways from the game.
