Interesting Trends

The Washington Huskies have won 4 straight and 8 of 10. They are also undefeated at Husky Stadium in 2022. But UW has only covered once in their previous 6 games (last week’s upset over Oregon) and only 8 times in their last 23.

In their last 11 contests, CU has won once and covered twice.

Outlook

Washington Defense vs. Colorado Offense

The Buffaloes score an average of 15.7 points per game. They have thrown nine picks and also fumbled 20 times, losing 11.

J.T. Shrout is the Buff’s starter. This season he’s completed 84 of 185 passes for 1,100 yards, with 6 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Overall, Colorado quarterbacks have been sacked 20 times this year.

Between turnovers and sacks, the Washington Huskies’ defense can’t wait for kickoff.

Cornerback Jordan Perryman is available on Saturday, but if Washington can get him some additional rest before next week’s Apple Cup Game, it would be a good idea.

Washington Offense vs. Colorado Defense

Colorado has the worst defense in the Pac-12. They give up the conference’s most points (41.7) and yards (488) per game. That bodes very well for the Washington Huskies quarterback and FBS passing yards leader Michael Penix.

Opposing offenses have gone after the Buffaloes’ defensive backs all season with good results. The Washington Huskies receiver group Jalen McMillan, Rome Odunze, Ja’Lynn Polk, Taj Davis, Giles Jackson, Devin Culp, and Jack Westover should combine for some huge totals.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Washington’s backup quarterbacks, Dylan Morris and Sam Huard, saw some action.

Two players UW should be aware of are Buffs’ middle linebackers Josh Chandler-Semedo and senior team captain Quinn Perry. The duo has a combined 140 tackles in 2022.

With a win over CU, the Washington Huskies will finish the season a perfect 7-0 at Husky Stadium.
