One month into the season, and the Seattle Kraken are in a much different position than last year. Many players have stepped up, but in Week 4, three players made all the difference.

According to Pacific Northwest Sports staff writer Jonathan West, it only took the Seattle Kraken 385 days to get a winning record. Yet, after their win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night, the Kraken are on a four-game win streak and have a .615 win percentage.

This seems like a minor miracle after barely stringing together three wins last year and finishing eighth in the Pacific Division. After Week 4, the Seattle Kraken are in second. This team is much different from when they first took the ice in 2021.

The team is above the league average in almost every aspect of the game this season. As it stands, the Kraken currently have the eighth-best power play percentage in the league (26.1%), are also seventh in goals scored (45), and ninth in goals per game (3.46).

On the downside, Seattle has the worst faceoff win percentage in the league. Their penalty kill is a little below average (73.8%), and goals against per game ranks middle of the pack (3.08).

There are still improvements the Seattle Kraken need to make as a whole. But all in all, they’re in a much better place than they were a year ago. Now on to the Three Stars of the Week!

Week 4 was fun, but three players ran with their opportunities and made a significant impact on the ice.
