Seattle Seahawks Dud and Stud of Game 14 vs. SF 49ers
Second Honorable Mention: Godwin Igwebuike
While only involved in a handful of plays, the second honorable mention goes to Godwin Igwebuike. He averaged almost 30 yards per kick return and almost broke one for a touchdown. While not a “studly” effort, Igwebuike definitely merits mention.
First Honorable Mention: Geno Smith
The first honorable mention will draw the ire of some, but I’m going with Geno Smith. While not his best statistical game, Smith hung in against a hellacious pass rush to keep the Seattle Seahawks in this game.
Smith’s 238 yards and a touchdown against San Francisco are nothing to sneeze at. Yes he had a sure interception dropped, but at the end of the day, he was Seattle’s best offensive player.
Stud of the Week: Jason Myers
The stud this week is Jason Myers. His phenomenal season continued Thursday night.
Myers was perfect during the game, including a 51-yarder in the third quarter. He’s been the best kicker in the NFL this year, evidenced by his 26/27 on field goals and 37/38 on extra points. Additionally, Myers has made all 6 of his 50 yard tries.
So there you have it, the best and worst that the Seattle Seahawks had to offer on a rough night. It’s going to be a rough schedule over the next few weeks, so let’s see if Seattle is up for the challenge.
