Seattle Seahawks injury report Week 5 vs Minnesota

Seattle Seahawks Injury
Neiko Thorpe, Seattle Seahawks injury report.

Our game day-eve injury report. PNWS lets you know who could miss the Seattle Seahawks Week 5 game.

Last week the Seattle Seahawks played the longest road game in the league. They came away with a 31-23 victory over Miami. Even better, the Seahawks left Hard Rock Stadium without any serious injuries.

Minus safety Jamal Adams and cornerback Quinton Dunbar, the Seattle Seahawks under-staffed defense allowed their opponents over 400 yards of offense for the fourth straight week. And once again, for the fourth straight week, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson rose to the occasion.

RW3 went 24 of 34 for 360 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Running back Chris Carson had 100 yards from scrimmage with two rushing touchdowns. D.K. Metcalf led the team with 106 receiving yards.

Injury Report

Seattle Seahawks

Out – WR Josh Gordon (suspended), G Phil Haynes (n/a), DE Bruce Irvin (Knee), DE Rasheem Green (Neck), CB Marquise Blair (Knee), WR Phillip Dorsett (Foot), CB Neiko Thorpe (hip), S Jamal Adams (Groin).

Questionable – LB Jordyn Brooks (Knee), CB Quinton Dunbar (Knee), S Lano Hill (Back), RB Carlos Hyde (Shoulder), G Mike Iupati (Knee/Back).

Notes – It’s a good news/bad news situation for the Seattle Seahawks as they continue to fight the war of attrition. On Wednesday, 26 players appeared on the injury report. By Saturday, it was down to five players listed as questionable.

It looks like starting cornerback Quinton Dunbar is back after missing the past two weeks with a knee injury. That will put his replacement Tre Flowers back on the bench, which is a huge boost to the Seahawks pass defense.

That was the good news. The bad news is the same as it’s been the last few weeks, Seattle will be short-handed in the secondary again. Unfortunately, Jamal Adams will sit out another week with a groin injury. Although he’s listed as questionable, head coach Pete Carroll doesn’t think backup safety Lano Hill will be available on Sunday. Mid-week Seattle placed special teams captain and backup cornerback Neiko Thorpe on injured reserve.

Minnesota Vikings

Out – WR K.J. Osborn (Hamstring), LB Anthony Barr (Chest), DE Danielle Hunter (Neck), LB Troy Dye (Foot), C/G Pat Elflein (Hand). Questionable – CB Holton Hill (Foot), CB – Kris Boyd (Hamstring). Probable – MLB Eric Kendricks (Foot).

Notes – Last week, the Vikings picked up their first victory of the season, defeating win-less Houston. Minnesota’s offense has picked it up the past two weeks, but that’s due to the running game. QB Kirk Cousins hasn’t thrown for 250 yards in a game this year. With Dunbar back in the lineup, Seattle’s defense finally has a favorable matchup.

The Vikings are missing key players on defense. Not many teams could withstand losing Barr and Hunter. As a result, Minnesota has yielded the seventh most points against, fifth-most yards against. The biggest decision for Russell Wilson will be cooking with gas or electricity.
