Seattle Seahawks injury report Week 4 at Miami

Seattle Seahawks injury
Jamal Adams, Seattle Seahawks.

Our game day-eve Seattle Seahawks injury report. PNWS lets you know who could miss Sunday’s Week 4 contest in Miami.

Another win and another set of costly injuries last week. The Seattle Seahawks lost a double-digit third-quarter lead and had to come from behind in the fourth to beat Dallas 38-31. Russell Wilson threw five touchdowns passes to bring his season total to 14 after three games. That is an NFL record to start a season.

Tyler Lockett was on the receiving end of three TD passes. That makes four touchdowns in Lockett’s last six games. He and D.K. Metcalf each had over 100 receiving yards.

On the downside, the Seahawks suffered a few injuries that will alter their approach to this week’s game. Safety Jamal Adams, cornerback Quinton Dunbar, and linebacker Jordyn Brooks are out for this week. They join Marquise Blair, Bruce Irvin, and Rasheem Green as key defensive players who are unavailable to play against Miami.

Seattle Seahawks Injury Report

Out – WR Josh Gordon (suspended), G Phil Haynes (n/a), DE Bruce Irvin (Knee), DE Rasheem Green (Neck), CB Marquise Blair (Knee), WR Phillip Dorsett (Foot), S Jamal Adams (Groin), LB Jordyn Brooks (Knee), CB Quinton Dunbar (Knee).

Questionable – CB Neiko Thorpe (hip), S Lano Hill (Back), C Ethan Pocic (Knee), RB Chris Carson (Knee), RB Carlos Hyde (Shoulder).

Probable – DE Benson Mayowa (Groin), OT Cedric Ogbuehi (chest), DT Poona Ford (Groin), G Damian Lewis (Ankle).

Notes – If the Seattle Seahawks defense didn’t have enough problems already, they play on Sunday without 60 percent of their best secondary. Blair is out for the year. Dunbar missed the Dallas game last week and won’t play Sunday either. Adams suffered a groin injury in the fourth quarter last week that will sideline him for this one, as well.

It could get worse for the secondary. Hill and Thorpe were limited during Wednesday’s practice and sat out on Thursday. Seattle lists both as questionable.

Carson and Hyde were limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday. Rookie DeeJay Dallas may make his debut this week with Seattle’s top two backs ailing. The 2020 fourth-round pick played his college football at the University of Miami, which is about half-an-hour south of Hard Rock Stadium. He’ll be quite at home running the ball in the South Florida heat and humidity.

The Seahawks offensive line is banged up as well. Damien Lewis, the rookie right guard, left with an ankle injury in the first half last week. He was limited this week but is probable for Sunday. Center Ethan Pocic injured his knee against Dallas. He was a full participant on Thursday after missing a chunk of practice time on Wednesday. Left tackle Brown sat out on Wednesday then was limited Thursday due to a knee issue.

Miami Dolphins Injury Report

Out – CB Byron Jones (Groin). Doubtful – S Kavon Frazier (Shoulder). Questionable- QB Tua Tagovailoa (Ill), CB Xavien Howard (Knee), RG Solomon Kindley (foot), S Clayton Fejedelem (Chest).

Notes – No defense has been torched through the air worse than the Seahawks. Miami, for their part, surrendered the ninth-most passing yards so far. They will be without their big free agent acquisition, cornerback Byron Jones on Sunday. Russ could do some serious cooking this week. Reports are the grill is already warm.

Since the Seahawks are so depleted on defense, it won’t be a surprise if they opt for more ball control this week to keep their D off the field. Seattle could have a big day on the ground against the 10th worst rushing defense in the NFL.

Miami’s offense isn’t much better their defense, but at least they are healthy. The Seattle Seahawks must overcome their injury woes and make a few stops on defense.
