Our game day eve report. PNWS lets you know who could miss the Seattle Seahawks Game 9 matchup in Los Angeles.

It’s almost hard to believe, Sunday begins the second half of the season. 12s might not recognize the team on the field. They come into this contest as a very beat-up team, as evidenced by this edition of the game day eve Seattle Seahawks injury report.

Last Week

Last week’s game was over early. Buffalo carved up the Seattle Seahawks defense on their first two possessions of the game. They drove 117 yards in 6:36 for a pair of touchdowns. Actually, the Bills executed with Seahawks-like precision in the first half, scoring on almost every possession.

It didn’t get much better for the Seattle Seahawks after the break. Turnovers and mistakes marred their second half. At one point, Seattle closed to within a touchdown after a 44-yard field goal near the end of the third quarter. That’s as close as the Seahawks got. Buffalo increased their lead to 21 points in the next 7:30. The final score, Seahawks 34, Bills 44.

The Seahawks are back on the west coast this week to face the Los Angeles Rams at brand new SoFi Stadium. Seattle needs a win to get their ship headed back in the right direction. It won’t be easy.

Injuries

Seattle Seahawks

Out – CB Shaquill Griffin (Concussion), RB Carlos Hyde (Shoulder), RB Chris Carson (Foot), CB Quinton Dunbar (Knee), C Ethan Pocic (Concussion), DT Bryan Mone (Ankle). Out IR – WR Josh Gordon (suspended), G Phil Haynes (n/a), DE Bruce Irvin (Knee), CB Marquise Blair (Knee), WR Phillip Dorsett (Foot), S Lano Hill (Back).

Questionable – LB K.J. Wright (ankle), DE Benson Mayowa (Ankle), WR Penny Hart (Knee), DE Alton Robinson (Sick), WR Freddie Swain (Foot).

Probable – G Mike Iupati (Back), S Ugo Amadi (Hamstring).

Notes – The Seattle Seahawks injury report grew again this week. Every time they get some good news, it’s almost immediately followed by bad news. For example, guard Mike Iupati starts in L.A. after missing several games with back issues. His return is tempered by the loss of center Ethan Pocic, due to a concussion.

Seattle played without cornerback Shaquill Griffin last week, and the Bills threw for over 400 yards. This week Griffin is still out. Fellow corner Quinton Dumbar will miss the game, as well. He’s sidelined this week with a knee injury. While nowhere near the level of Seattle’s top two, cornerback Neiko Thorpe was activated from IR.

Once again, the team will be without their top two running backs, Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde. Hopefully, with a start under his belt, Deejay Dallas can step it up a notch.

Defensive tackle Damon Harrison is active this week. He takes over for injured Bryan Mone, who won’t play on Sunday.

Los Angeles Rams

Out IR – OT Joseph Noteboom, LB Travin Howard, LB Justin Lawler, LB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, S Terrell Burgess, S Jordan Fuller.

Questionable – LB Leonard Floyd (Knee), LB Terrell Lewis (Shoulder).

Probable – WR Cooper Kupp (Oblique), C Brian Allen (Knee), LT Andrew Whitworth (Back), RB Darrell Henderson Jr. (Quadricep), OT David Edwards (Abdominal).

Notes – Los Angeles comes into this game surprisingly healthy. Not completely healthy, but aside from safety Jordan Fuller, they are intact.

Matchups to Watch

  • Seahawks CBs Tre Flowers, D.J. Reed, and Neiko Thorpe vs. Rams WRs Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and Josh Reynolds.
  • Rams DT Aaron Donald vs. Seahawks interior offensive line.
  • Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf vs. Rams CB Jalen Ramsey.
