Last Game
Seahawks 31 – Jacksonville 7 (October 31)
The Seattle Seahawks snapped a three-game losing streak, although it came against the NFL’s worst team. Geno Smith finally had a good decent game in his stint as Russell Wilson‘s fill-in. He effectively used both Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf for 185 of his 195 passing yards. Defensively, Seattle held the Jags to just seven points.
- QB Geno Smith – 20 of 24 passing for 196 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.
- RB Alex Collins – 10 carries for 44 yards.
- WR Tyler Lockett– 12 receptions for 142 yards.
- LB Bobby Wagner – 14 tackles (7 solo) with 1 tackle for loss.
Green Bay 13 – Kansas City 7
Last week, for the first time since Game 1, Green Bay lost. This game wasn’t the explosive showdown between Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes most expected when the schedule came out. Instead, it was a defensive battle that held both teams to a combined 538 yards of offense. Jordan Love made his first career start in place of Aaron Rodgers, who was in COVID protocol.
- QB Jordan Love – 19 of 34 passing for 190 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.
- RB Aaron Jones – 12 carries for 53 yards.
- WR Davante Adams – 6 receptions for 42 yards,
- LB Krys Barnes – 9 tackles, including 1 for loss.
Outlook
Both teams have their starting QBs back this week. They each looked lost without their primary signal-caller.
It’s a good thing Russell Wilson is playing. Green Bay averages 210.4 yards per game, which ranks seventh in the NFL. They might have a better chance on the ground where the Pack is mid-pack. Alex Collins should get plenty of carries.
Seattle’s defense has plenty to watch for between Aaron Rodgers throwing to Davante Adams and Aaron Jones running the ball. They will have to do something they’ve struggled to do so far this year, pressure the passer.
Matchups to watch
- Seahawks WRs D.K. Metcalf vs. Green Bay cornerback Eric Stokes.
- Green Bay RB Aaron Jones vs. Seahawks MLB Bobby Wagner.
- Seahawks LT Duane Brown vs. Green Bay LB Rashan Gary
- Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers vs. Seahawks S Jamal Adams.
