Outlook

New Orleans’ offense is 28th overall in yards per game (295.2) but 9th in points scored (25.4). They make their drives count. Without receivers Michael Thomas and Deonte Harris, running back Alvin Kamara is their biggest offensive threat. Kamara can hurt defenses either rushing or catching passes out of the backfield, he has 481 yards from scrimmage in just five games this season.

These aren’t the Drew Brees Saints anymore. The future Hall-of-Famer called it quits after last season. His replacement Jameis Winston is nowhere near the same area code as his predecessor in terms of putting up numbers. Head coach Sean Peyton is very conservative with him, which is a big reason why Winston has 12 touchdowns against only 3 picks this year.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith didn’t have a good game last week in Pittsburgh. Russell Wilson’s replacement struggled to move his team down the field. He might catch a break this week.

New Orleans struggles as much as Seattle does getting to the quarterback. As someone who needs as much time as he can get in the pocket as Smith does, that’s a blessing. Receivers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Locket should have a little extra time to get open. The same goes for tight ends Gerald Everett and Will Disley.

Also, running backs Alex Collins and Rashad Penny will play. They should be enough to keep the Saints’ defense off balance.

The Seattle Seahawks are back home against a team that’s missing several of their biggest playmakers. Smith should have an easier time in the pocket which means Seattle can score some points. Final prediction Seahawks 24 – New Orleans 17.
