The Seattle Seahawks won their last five regular-season games and seven of eight. They also are on a five-game win streak in September. From a betting perspective, Seattle covered in eight of ten overall and four of five against AFC teams.

Since opening the 2020 season 5-0, Tennessee is 6-7. They’ve also failed to cover in four of their last five games. The Titans haven’t been very effective against teams from the NFC West in recent seasons, going 1-5.

Last Week

Seattle Seahawks 28 – Indianapolis 16

Quarterback Russell Wilson was incredibly efficient at Lucas Oil Stadium. He completed 18 of 23 for 254 yards and four touchdown passes. Chris Carson ran for 91 yards (5.7 YPC) and caught 3 passes for 26 more. Tyler Lockett played like star 12s know he is, going for 100 receiving yards and a pair of TDs on four catches.

Seattle’s defense did a great job against the rush. They held Colts running backs to 90 yards on 26 carries (3.46 YPC). The D-Line looked fantastic, especially defensive tackle Rasheem Green. Linebackers Bobby Wagner and Jordan Brooks combined to make 24 tackles.

Arizona 38 – Tennessee 13

Tennessee was dominated in their opener last week. The Cards scored the game’s first 21 points and never looked back. Chandler Jones sacked Titans QB Ryan Tannehill five times, and the offense racked up 416 yards of offense.

Outlook

Not only does the Tennessee offense have Jones and Brown, but it also features running back Derrick Henry. They can gain yards, and it’s up to the Seattle Seahawks defensive line to put enough pressure on Tannehill to neutralize those weapons.

It’s a battle to see which team has the best receiver duo in the NFL. Seattle’s D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett can stake their claim to the title. Hopefully, they get the chance to prove it. The best way to keep the Titans’ stars in check is to hold on to the ball, which means the classic Pete Carroll “grind it out offense.” Carson should have a big game.

Matchups to watch

Tennessee LB/DE Bud Dupree vs. Seattle LT Duane Brown

Seattle edge rushers Carlos Dunlap and Darrell Taylor vs. Tennessee LT Taylor Lewan.

Tennessee WRs A.J. Brown, Julio Jones vs. Seahawks defensive backs.

I like Seattle to win this one at home. The over/under looks about right at 54 points. You’re on your own there.
