What’s at stake

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals already clinched a postseason spot, but they still have plenty of incentive to win this game. A win over Seattle combined with a Rams loss means Arizona wins the NFC West and plays at home next week. If the Cards lose or L.A. wins, then Arizona is the NFC number five seed and plays at Dallas.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are out of the playoffs but have one big thing to play for on Sunday. They sent their 2022 first-round pick to the Jets as part of the Jamal Adams trade. Giving up a top ten pick would just be an insult on top of the injury of a losing season, and the Seahawks would dearly love to avoid this. Also, this could be Russell Wilson’s last game in a Seahawks uniform. If Russ leaves, it would be nice to see him go out with a win.

Outlook

As mentioned above, there is much more at stake for Arizona than there is for the Seattle Seahawks. Since L.A. plays against San Francisco at the same time, the Cards won’t know their final fate until the game is almost over. They aren’t resting anyone in the last week that isn’t absolutely necessary.

To be honest, it’s hard to believe that the Seahawks are only a five and a half point underdog. Their defense plays on Sunday without their two best players, Bobby Wagner, Jamal Adams.

Cards QB Kyler Murray should have a big day. When these teams met on November 21, his backup Colt McCoy threw for 328 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
