Last Game

Seattle Seahawks 33 – Houston 13

Last week’s “W” in Houston made it two straight Seahawks wins. It was also the second straight game that Seattle scored 30 or more points. In the second half, the Seahawks had one chunk play after another to keep their hosts in a hole.

  • QB Russell Wilson – 17 of 28 passing for 260 yards, 2 touchdowns.
  • RB Rashaad Penny – 16 carries for 137 yards, 2 touchdowns.
  • WR Tyler Lockett – 5 receptions for 142 yards and 1 touchdown.
  • LB Bobby Wagner – 15 tackles (6 solo), 1 tackle for loss.

Los Angeles 30 – Arizona 23

The Rams pulled off a big victory in the desert to pull within one game of first place in the NFC West. Quarterback Matthew Stafford found his stride with three touchdown passes. L.A.’s defense made life difficult for the Cards with four sacks and two interceptions.

  • QB Matthew Stafford – 23 of 30 passing for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns.
  • RB Sony Michel – 20 carries for 79 yards.
  • WR Cooper Kupp – 13 receptions for 123 yards and 1 touchdown.
  • DT Aaron Donald – 5 tackles (3 solo), including 3 sacks.

Outlook

With all the players on the COVID-19 list for both teams, it should make any assumptions about this game challenging. Unfortunately, Los Angeles’ designated Seattle Seahawks destroyer, defensive tackle Aaron Donald, is as devastating as ever.

Russell Wilson better watch out for the pass rush because the Rams are coming after him once again. His task is even more demanding because his favorite target Tyler Lockett is out of action.

The Rams also have their big-play receivers back while Seattle is down several cornerbacks, including Tre Brown and D.J. Reed. Even though L.A. is set with their passing game, running back Darrell Henderson is also back, and if he can carry the ball 20 times Tuesday night, he will.

There are two things that the Seahawks have going for them this week. First, they have desperation on their side. Additionally, Russell Wilson is starting to look like the RW3 that 12s all know and love.
