Interesting Trends
The Seahawks dropped five of their last six, and the total has gone under in seven of eight.
Washington is 2-4 in their last six, including two straight wins. Against the spread, they covered on three times in 2021. WFT’s total went under in four of their most recent five.

Arizona 23 – Seattle Seahawks 13
Arizona backup quarterback Colt McCoy looked anything but a backup, leading the Cards to a 23-13 win. The Seahawks’ offense was out of sync all day. Their porous offensive line couldn’t block for either the pass (four sacks against) or the run (86 yards), which is a big reason why Seattle possessed the ball for only 19:38. As a result, their “bend don’t break defense” was on the field way too long and wore down.
- QB Russell Wilson – 14 of 26 passing for 207 yards.
- RB Alex Collins – 10 carries for 36 yards, 1 reception for 8 yards.
- WR Tyler Lockett – 4 receptions for 115 yards.
- LB Jordyn Brooks (15), LB Bobby Wagner (13), and CB Sidney Jones (11) all had double-digit tackles.
Washington 27 – Carolina 21
It was a tight game with neither team leading by more than seven points. Quarterback Taylor Heinicke threw three touchdowns to three different receivers. WFT’s defense kept Carolina’s to under 300 yards of offense.

- RB Antonio Gibson – 19 carries for 95 yards.
- WR Terry McLaurin – 5 receptions for 103 yards and 1 touchdown.
- LB Cole Holcomb – 10 tackles and 1 pass defended.
Outlook
Washington’s offensive line is hurting. Maybe this week, the Seattle Seahawks front four can get some consistent pressure on the quarterback. Cornerback D.J. Reed will have his hands full with WFT’s standout receiver Terry McLaurin.
The Seahawks caught a break with both of WFT’s outstanding pass rushers Chase Young and Montez Sweat, on Injured Reserve. Washington still gets a good push in the middle from their defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and De’Ron Payne. Without guard Damien Lewis, Seattle will struggle to run inside.
On offense, Seattle needs to improve over their performances since Russell Wilson’s returned on November 14. It will be that much harder with only two healthy halfbacks, Alex Collins and Deejay Dallas. An offensive turnaround starts with Wilson taking what the defense gives him and making good reads. He should have some receiver mismatches to exploit.
