Out – WR DeAndre Hopkins, G Justin Pugh, RB Jonathan Ward. Probable – QB Kyler Murray (ankle), QB Colt McCoy (pectoral), C Max Garcia (Achillies), S Budda Baker (heel), S James Wiggins (knee).
Russell Wilson returned last week after missing three games with a finger injury. He was rusty and forced several throws that led to interceptions. The Seahawks defense held on for as long as they could but in the end, Green Bay was too much to handle.
The Cardinals’ offense sputtered without Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, and Chase Edmonds producing only 163 yards. Carolina has a top-five defense this year and easily handled Arizona. Meanwhile, the Cards were powerless to stop the Cam Newton/ PJ Walker-led Panthers.
Murray may be back this week, but Edmonds and Hopkins remain out. That doesn’t mean the Seattle Seahawks can take the visitors lightly. Running back James Connor has 11 touchdowns while wide receiver Christian Kirk has 47 receptions for 603 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The Seahawks may have caught a break with one Arizona starting interior offensive lineman out and another at less than 100 percent. They’ll have to get a good push up the middle to take advantage, then again Murray has a knack for escaping trouble.
Offensively, Seattle needs to do much better than last week. Anemic doesn’t even begin to describe how they looked against Green Bay. A turnaround starts with Wilson playing under control and making good reads.
