Outlook
Las Vegas is having an awful season. Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks are one of this year’s surprise teams.
Seahawks offense vs. Raiders defense
On the surface, Seattle has the fifth-highest scoring offense (25.7 points), and Vegas’ defense gives up the ninth most points (24.1).
Part of the reason for LVR’s poor scoring defense is they only have 13 sacks this year and one player, Maxx Crosby, has 9. That’s good news for this year’s most accurate passer Geno Smith. He’ll have time in the pocket to operate.
Speaking of extra time, with a little more of it to get open, Seattle Seahawks receivers D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Marquise Goodwin can do some serious damage. If the defense backs off, Kenneth Walker is a huge threat to break big runs.
Seahawks defense vs. Raiders offense
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr found a connection with Davante Adams. The receiver LVR gave up their first round pick for has 64 receptions for 925 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 40 first downs in 10 games.
He’s a tough matchup for Seattle’s inexperienced corners Tariq Woolen, Coby Bryant, and Michael Jackson. The Seahawks get some help with Tre Brown likely back in the lineup.
Josh Jacobs is the NFL’s third-leading rusher with 930 yards and 7 touchdowns on 183 carries. He’s also the Raiders number three receiver with 34 receptions for 251 yards. The Seahawks defense needs to keep him in check. Expect number 56, Jordyn Brooks, to shadow him all game.
