Seattle Seahawks Dud and Stud of Game 7 vs. Chargers
For the third time in four games, the Seattle Seahawks scored over 35 points in a 37-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Here are our Dud and Stud of the game.
In a 37-23 victory, there are also plenty of reasonable candidates for the Stud of the Week. With the Seahawks tallying 37 points, it makes sense for the stud, and honorable mentions would come on the offensive side of the ball.
2nd Honorable Mention
The second honorable mention this week goes to Geno Smith. He continues to lead this offense at a pace much better than anyone not named Pete Carroll would have believed he could.
Smith started the first drive of the game with an interception, but calmed himself down and completed 20 of his 27 passes for 210 yards and 2 TDs. The Seahawks are coming out like bandits in the Russell Wilson trade with how well Smith is performing this season.
Here’s an unlikely sentence, if Smith keeps this up, he should be in the discussion for NFC Offensive Player of the Year.
1st Honorable Mention
Kenneth Walker showed up in a big way this week with 23 carries for 168 yards and 2 TDs. His only blemish on Sunday was when he got tackled in the endzone for a safety.
Otherwise, KW3 looked impressive all day long. His 74-yard TD run in the second half helped the Seattle Seahawks seal the game.
Stud of the Week
The Stud of the Week goes to Marquise Goodwin. With a stat line of 4 catches, 67 yards, and 2 TDs in relief of Metcalf, it is easy to see how he wins this honor.
While 4 catches for 67 yards isn’t incredibly impressive, those 2 TDs were crucial to the Seahawks’ victory. His second TD grab was a work of art.
