Seattle Seahawks: 2020 Pro Bowl snubs deserved the honor

Earlier this week, the NFL put out the 2020 Pro Bowl rosters. Although seven Seattle Seahawks made the team, there were some big snubs.
America loves its All-Star teams. The NFL does its part with an annual meaningless game of supposed elite players (many players opt-out). Although there is no game this year due to COVID-19, the league put out rosters for the non-event. Seven members of the Seattle Seahawks are part of the NFC squad.
Russell Wilson did enough cooking this season to make the team as one of three quarterbacks. He’s on pace for 4,200 passing yards and has already thrown 37 touchdown passes. RW3’s top receiver, D.K. MetcalfΒ is there as well. The second-year wideout has 74 catches for 1,223 yards and 10 touchdowns.
12’s were sure Seattle had the top safety duo in the NFL, and now it’s confirmed. Both Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs earned Pro Bowl honors. Bobby Wagner, arguably the best middle linebacker in the game, made his seventh straight Pro Bowl.
Two Seattle special teams players were selected as well, Nick Bellore and long snapper Tyler Ott. Even though seven Seahawks made it, there were still some snubs.
K.J. Wright
Because of 3-4 defenses that use Pass rushing outside linebackers, it’s almost impossible for traditional 4-3 linebackers like K.J. Wright to make the Pro Bowl. But the Seahawks OLB is having a great season. He has 76 tackles, 2.0 sacks, and 8 passes defended. More importantly, he’s done a fantastic job in pass coverage. Something that’s often overlooked when choosing the best linebackers.
Jason Myers
Younghoe Koo of Atlanta is having a fantastic season with 133 points for a 4β10 team. He’s made all but one field goal this year and is eight-for-eight on FG’s of 50 or more yards. But how much pressure has Koo faced this year? His team hasn’t been in contention after an 0β5 start.
Jason Myers, on the other hand, has been Mr. Clutch. He’s come through for the 10β4 Seattle Seahawks time and again when they’ve needed him. The case can be made that although Kim has been more prolific, Myers made a bigger impact.
Tyler Lockett
OK, Tyler Lockett hasn’t been D.K. Metcalf this year. Even so, Lockett is fourth in the NFC with 85 receptions. He’s also 10th with eight touchdown catches, and his 920 yards are 11th. At times Lockett appears to have a mental link with Wilson. On almost any other team in the league, he’s a clear-cut number one target. In Seattle, Metcalf and Lockett are 1-A and 1-B.
Michael Dickson
In my opinion, Michael Dickson is the NFL’s best punter in 2020. He leads the conference in both average yards (49.4) and punts inside the 20 (27). He’s also third in net yards (44.1). Jack Fox is having a good season for Detroit, but Dickson has repeatedly bailed his team out of trouble and is an unsung hero of several victories this year.
Chris Carson
Any team that played against Chris Carson this season knows what he can do. At times the 5-11, 220-pound running back has been unstoppable. Really, the only thing that’s stopped Carson is a foot injury.
In 10 games, Carson has 809 total yards and nine touchdowns. His average is 5.5 yards every time he touches the ball.
