Drew Timme had another monster game as the Gonzaga Bulldogs defeated Montana 85-75 for the Zags 72nd straight win at The Kennel.

In the last game before Gonzaga’s holiday break, Timme had another double-double scoring 32 points with 11 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks. With this win, the Bulldogs now have 72 straight victories at the Kennel.
Montana came on strong, making four from beyond the arc to get an early lead on Gonzaga, leading by as much as ten points at one time. But a 26-8 run to end the first half had the Bulldogs leading 36-28.
Julian Strawther and Malachi Smith were the only two Bulldogs besides Timme in double figures. Strawther had another double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. The remaining starters contributed 16 points among them.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs bench, including Ben Gregg, Hunter Sallis, and Smith, totaled 22 points in the win. Smith contributed 11 points and had this to say about his play every time he stepped on the court,
“My confidence has never wavered. I know what I’m capable of doing and I go out there every game just trying to win.”
The Montana Grizzlies were definitely trying to get a W in this last game before the holiday. Grizzlies junior Josh Bannan scored 19 points, and teammates Brandon Whitney and Dischon Thomas contributed 15 points each.

What’s next for our hard-working Bulldogs is a well-deserved holiday break. On Wednesday, Dec. 28, the Bulldogs are back in action at the McCarthy Center against the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers.
The Bulldogs face the Pepperdine Waves on New Year’s Eve at the McCarthy Center.
